The men’s black TENSON TXLITE NUNATAQ MOUNTAINEERING JACKET is the perfect choice if you are in search of a lightweight and very durable waterproof jacket for all your mountain adventures! Or, if you are looking for a jacket that is reinforced with a fiber that is 15 times stronger than steel and so lightweight it floats on water. The TENSON TXLITE NUNATAQ MOUNTAINEERING JACKET, with its functional design and broad feature set, ticks all the boxes. The name itself originates from Tenson's adventurous history and the Inuit (The Greenlandic indigenous people) word “Nunataq” for the summit or ridge of a mountain that protrudes from an ice field or glacier that otherwise covers most of the mountain or ridge, also known as glacial islands. BUILT AND REINFORCED WITH DYNEEMA® FIBER (15 times stronger than steel!) in a tough 3-layer stretch fabric powered with Tenson's proprietary MPC Extreme X™ technology (WP 20 000mm / MP 20 000 g/m2/24h) construction, The Nunataq jacket sheds rain, snow, and ice with ease. 1951
In the little coastal town of Varberg, Sweden, the aspiring entrepreneur Paul Rydholm starts a small-scale production of sportswear together with his sister and two seamstresses.
Throughout the years, Tenson products were always tested in the most demanding conditions, keeping the adventurous dry in extreme and wet conditions, including those hearty souls attempting Arctic and Antarctic expedition firsts.
The DNA of Tenson remains the interplay between design, materials and technology - where function and style meet. Its brand history is a never-ending voyage of outdoor adventures.

How to dress properly for Ski Touring
TENSON’S MULTILAYER PRINCIPLE: Designing and developing apparel that caters to the extreme needs of Ski Touring's very wide range of activities really brings out the best in our designers and product developers. Just imagine an elevated heart rate causing excessive sweating when pushing uphill, reaching your destination, wresting and cooling down - then skiing downhill with the wind in cooling you down - extreme conditions calling for smart designs and high quality, performance apparel and the need to dress accordingly.

Your apparel journey begins with the baselayer. Tenson’s baselayers, made from Merino wool, keeping you dry and warm in all conditions.
The midlayer style is made in Power Stretch material, comes with a full length zipper, making it easier to change your baselayer.
Our insulation layer is made in lightweight high quality Primaloft padding keeping you dry and warm during your ascent and during our descent.
The outer layer, the wind and weather-resistant shell that features a membrane to protect the layers underneath from wind, rain and snow, while still ensuring breathability.
